Welcome to My Virtual Spellbook
My love affair with magic started early—mixing questionable potions from kitchen supplies and wandering the forest in search of fairies.
Then, middle school happened. Enter The Craft—the cult classic that became the ultimate catalyst for this crystal-collecting, astrology-studying, occult-fixated, JNCO-wearing outcast.
Have I dated myself yet?
My first Book of Shadows was a 5×7 spiral-bound Five Star notebook, proudly decorated with a holographic sticker I scored from one of those quarter machines at the front of big-box stores. This was 1990-something. There were no cool Etsy shops for witchy stickers back then, okay? What I wouldn’t give to unearth that relic now.
My path with paganism has been a winding, ever-evolving one, but it has always felt like home.
This space is an extension of that journey—a living, breathing spellbook meant to be explored, adapted, and infused with your own energy. Whether you’re here for knowledge, inspiration, or simply to wander through the corridors of magic, I hope you find something that resonates.
My Work
My work is a fusion of timeless wisdom and modern artistry, shaped by experience, intuition, and deep intention. Witchcraft and creative expression have been integral parts of my life for as long as I can remember, forming the foundation of everything I create. My work is rooted in meaning, shaped by what speaks to me on a deeper level and carries significance. Whether through writing, visual art, or the way I engage with the world, everything I share is a reflection of my practice and perspective.
At my core, I’m a creator and curator—not just of content, but of story, meaning, and experience. My writing explores magic and transformation, while my visuals distill esoteric concepts into a modern, intentional style. Everything I create is crafted with purpose—not just to inform, but to immerse, offering a space where history, mysticism, and personal practice intersect.
I approach magic as something fluid and intuitive, working with energy rather than adhering to rigid systems. I don’t follow traditional frameworks or work with deities; instead, I focus on movement, alignment, and the natural flow of power in the world. Magic isn’t just something I practice—it’s woven into my daily life, present in the materials I use, my connection to nature, and the way I engage with the world around me.
Q&A with Charlotte Wilde
How did you first get into witchcraft and the occult?
I’ve been drawn to magic for as long as I can remember—mixing kitchen potions, searching for fairies in the woods, and feeling an unspoken connection to the unseen. But it was during my middle school years, after watching The Craft, that I truly began exploring witchcraft intentionally, and immersing myself in the occult.
How would you describe your personal practice?
My practice is intuitive and energy-based rather than structured by traditional systems. I don’t work with deities; instead, I work with movement, alignment, and the natural energy that already exists. Magic isn’t something I perform—it’s something I live. It’s in the materials I use, the way I engage with nature, and the unseen forces that shape reality.
What inspired you to write Eclectic Witchcraft: Old Ways for Modern Magick?
I wanted to create a book that honored the depth and history of witchcraft while making it accessible to modern practitioners. It’s a blend of traditional wisdom and contemporary practice, meant to guide others in forging a path that feels personal, intentional, and powerful.
What is your virtual spellbook, and how is it different from other witchcraft websites?
This space is an extension of my own journey—a living, breathing spellbook meant to be explored, adapted, and infused with your own energy. It’s not a shop or a place to buy pre-made spells. Instead, it’s a space for knowledge, inspiration, and personal exploration. Whether you’re here to deepen your craft, find new perspectives, or simply wander through the corridors of magic, I hope you find something that resonates.
What’s one misconception about modern witchcraft that you wish people understood?
That it’s all about aesthetics or buying the “right” tools. Magic isn’t something you consume—it’s something you cultivate. It’s about energy, intuition, and connection, not just having the prettiest altar setup or the most expensive crystals.
How has your practice evolved over the years?
When I first started, my practice was largely about learning—reading every book I could find, experimenting with spells, and figuring out what resonated. Over time, it became less about structured rituals and more about intuition, energy, and integration. Now, magic is simply woven into my daily life—it’s in the way I move through the world, the way I interact with nature, and the way I create.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out on their magical path?
Follow what sparks something in you, and don’t get caught up in needing to “do it right.” Magic is deeply personal, and there’s no singular path. Read, experiment, and trust your intuition. The most powerful practice is one that feels aligned with who you are.
What role does history play in your practice?
I believe magic is deeply tied to history—not in the sense of rigid tradition, but as an ongoing conversation between past and present. While I don’t feel bound by historical practices, I do believe in understanding where things come from, respecting their origins, and adapting them in a way that honors their essence.
